About Peak Walking Adventures

Our top priority is to provide first class customer service so that all you need to worry about is enjoying yourself.  All of our walk leaders have a wealth of local knowledge, are professionally qualified and hold current first aid qualifications.

We are based in the historic Derbyshire town of Belper, just outside of the National Park.  Our walks are generally further north in the county in the High Peak and Derbyshire Dales areas.

Meet the Team

Peak Walking Adventures was founded by Cath Lee, who has lived on the edge of the Peak District all her life.

For many years Cath has been passionate about walking in this diverse and stunningly beautiful area.  After a 30 year career in banking and then policy development, she decided to follow her dream and established Peak Walking Adventures and now leads many of the walks herself.

Our other regular walking guide is Bobby Charlton who has been with us from the outset.  Bobby's main interests are in natural history with an emphasis in geology.  He has many years experience of leading expeditions and walks in the UK and abroad.

Both Cath and Bob are MLTA qualified Walking Group Leaders.

Sustaining the Peak District for the Future - Our Environmental and Sustainability Policies

We fully support the principles of sustainable tourism by:

Protecting the Environment
  • Taking only small groups out into environmentally sensitive areas to minimise the impact on delicate ecosystems and avoid unnecessary erosion.
  • Helping our customers to learn about the local environment and how they can help protect it.
  • Following The Countryside Code.
  • Encouraging customers to arrive by public transport or minimise the use of their car during their stay.
  • Making all of our walks accessible to those using public transport.
  • Using a vehicle ourselves that has low carbon emissions.
  • Doing most of our marketing, admin and booking arrangements on-line to minimise use of paper
  • Supporting local wildlife and environmental charities such as Friends of the Peak District (An independent charity whose vision is of a living, working Peak District that changes with the time but remains beautiful forever.)

Supporting the Local Economy and Communities

  • Using local suppliers whenever possible for all aspects of our business
  • Recommending locally owned hotels, guesthouses, and self catering accommodation.
  • Encouraging our customers to sample locally sourced food.
  • Promoting to our customers other attractions, craft products etc within the area.
  • Helping our customers to learn about the Peak District way of life, culture and heritage.
