Conservation Volunteering
If you are considering a few days walking in the Peak District or Derbyshire with Peak Walking Adventures, for a totally different and rewarding experience, why not combine it with a day or more undertaking voluntary conservation work?
Conservation volunteering days are organised by a number of local organisations such as Friends of the Peak District, The Peak District National Park Authority, and the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust.
Training is usually given and activities can include:
Grounds maintenance in wildlife reserves
Hedge laying
Dry stone walling
Repairing footpaths
Improving facilities for visitors
Monitoring and recording wildlife and plantlife
A wide range of other tasks.
Conservation volunteering is a great way to learn new skills, meet interesting people, and make a positive contribution to the natural environment.
Please
contact us with the dates that you are interested in volunteering, combined with the days that you wish to do guided walking with us, and we will be pleased to advise you of any relevant opportunities.
