Mid Derbyshire Guided Day Walks
Starting with a delicious cooked breakfast of locally sourced food at the Bear Inn, Alderwasley.
Further south in the county than our regular walking programme, for something different why not try one of our new walks in the rolling countryside of central Derbyshire with a friendly professional guide to bring the experience to life by sharing their local knowledge with you?
These full day and half day walks are arranged upon request. You tell us the distance that you are comfortable walking, and we will plan a lovely route for you.
Typically we may explore the pretty village of Alderwasley, follow country paths down into the Derwent Valley, maybe to learn the history of High Peak Junction and Leawood Pumphouse, and stroll along the towpath of the Cromford Canal. For those that are comfortable with a walk of about 12 miles, we could wind our way up the hill towards the village of Crich, passing by the famous landmark of Crich Stand, and maybe stopping at a local tea room for refreshments before making our way back across the valley through fields, woodland and the beautiful Alderwasley Park. There will be fantastic views and points of interest along the way.
