Our full week and short break guided walking holidays in the Peak District and Derbyshire can be designed to meet your exact requirements.  You choose how many days you would like to walk, when you arrive, and where you want to stay.

Peak Walking Adventures offers:

  • Friendly, professional service
  • Knowledgeable guides
  • Small walking groups of no more than 6 people plus the guide
  • A commitment to help care for the environment
  • Accessibility by public transport
  •
Guided walks are available almost every day with different programmes available on different weeks.  Choose from our Peak District National Park programme based in Hathersage, or our Derbyshire Dales programme based in Matlock.  Both involve staying in a single location for the entire duration of your walking holiday with varied walks in the surrounding area.  Whichever walking programme you choose, we are confident that you will leave us feeling totally relaxed, and with a catalogue of wonderful memories.

Dates for both walking holiday programmes are shown on the calendar below.

For a different and rewarding experience, why not consider combining a few days of guided walking with a day or more undertaking voluntary conservation work?

Book your guided walking programme now, then fix up your accommodation to create the perfect walking holiday!

    Accommodation

By allowing you to select and book your own accommodation it gives added flexibility to your walking holiday.  We are however happy to suggest suitable places, and to help with the arrangements if necessary.  Choose from the excellent range of quality assured hotels, B&Bs or self catering establishments in the area.  There is something available to suit everyon's budget and preferences.

If you are arriving by public transport, then your accommodation for our Peak District walking holidays should be in the village of Hathersage which is on the main Sheffield - Manchester railway line, and your accommodation for our Derbyshire Dales walking holidays should be in Matlock which can be reached by train from Derby.

If you are arriving by car and are willing to drive each morning to meet us at the starting point of the walks, then you may book your accommodation anywhere, but for convenience of location, we would recommend somewhere in the Hope Valley area for our Peak District walks, and somewhere in the Matlock or Cromford area for our Derbyshire Dales walking holidays.  Again, we are happy to help with suggestions.

See the accommodation page for our suggestions of great places to stay!

Travelling to the Peak District and Derbyshire Dales

The Peak District and Derbyshire are easily accessible by public transport from most parts of the UK, and are only 2 1/2  - 3 hours by train from London.

To help 'do your bit' for the environment, we strongly encourage you to consider arriving by public transport.  Use these handy search boxes to check your route.

All of the accommodation that we suggest is within walking distance of either Matlock or Hathersage railway stations.  Some walks will start and finish at your accommodation.  For others we will take a short journey either by train, bus, or in our own vehicle to the starting point.
