Access Statement

We provide guided walks in varying locations including the countryside of the Peak District, Lake District, Scotland, Snowdonia and Yorkshire. Open group walks are for a full day (up to 8 hours). For private guided walks we charge at a full day rate, but the length and time of the walk can be arranged to suit the client. We do not have any buildings or premises of any type.

Pre-Arrival

Our walks start from varying locations. Full directions to the meeting point are provided on our website or by email, depending upon the walk chosen. Some of our walks are accessible by public transport with a distance to the starting point. We can provide any information in large print if required. We do not have facilities to prepare documents in braille. We are happy to help with any information required with regard to specific needs and to discuss with you the most suitable walk for you.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

Facilities vary depending upon the starting point of the walk. We will be happy to help with detailed information for your selected walk or discuss with you any special requirements.

Walking Routes

The majority of our open group guided walks are on hill and moorland footpaths and over Access Land. The ground is often rough, stony and sometimes muddy or boggy. Most of our walks involve walking up and down hills, some of which are steep. Most of the routes also involve climbing over or squeezing through stiles. There are not usually public toilets along the route of our walks, although toilets are available at the starting point of some walks. Participants need to carry essential items in a rucksack, such as food, drinks, spare clothing, waterproofs etc – we provide participants with a Kit List. We are also able to provide private guided walks to meet individual requirements for people with physical and sensory access needs. We can for example offer guided ‘walks’ along well made and level tracks suitable for wheelchair users, or to meet other specific needs. We are happy to discuss individual requirements and suggest suitable guided walks.

Food

We do not provide any food, but are happy to suggest local cafés restaurants or shops in the area of your chosen walk. A packed lunch is required on most of our full day walks which you should bring with you
