Edale Skyline walk

Born from the rugged landscapes and challenging terrain the Peak District’s the Edale Skyline Fell Race is a revered fixture in the international fell running calendar.

You can enjoy the Skyline as a fabulous full day challenge walk. At Peak Walking Adventures, our friendly, professional guides can lead you round the route between April and October. The Edale Skyline challenge walk is a ‘must do hike on the hills’ for experienced walkers who are fit to walk all day with steep ascents and short breaks.

Starting at 08.00 in the picturesque village of Hope we complete the 20 miles, with 3514 feet of ascent,  in over 9 – 11 hours. We traverse some of the highest edges, summits and ridges in the Peak District, including Win Hill, Kinder Scout, Mam Tor, The Great Ridge and Lose Hill. This high-level trail offers fabulous ‘skyline views’,  looking down to the Vale of Edale, Castleton Village and the Hope Valley.

We also offer a 13-mile shortened version of the Edale skyline route – ideal for those wishing to enjoy ‘Skyline highlights’, but with reduced distance and ascent.
