On 10 October 2026, we’re leading a 30km challenge walk, to raise £1500 for Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, to support its vision of a wilder Derbyshire, where people and wildlife thrive together.
About the Challenge
This autumn challenge takes a guided route from Hathersage through a variety of Peak District landscapes, including wild moorland, deep cloughs, and high edges. The route passes Abney Moor, Overdale, Bretton Clough, historic Eyam Village and Froggatt Edge, as well as riverside paths and beautiful woodland. There’s also an option to cover a shorter 18km route with 700m of ascent. All donations and walk bookings will go to the Trust, with expenses and guide costs covered by us. Why are we Raising Funds for the Trust?
We care deeply about the beautiful natural environments we walk in. It is vital they remain thriving, sustainable landscapes for everyone to enjoy. We love the Trust’s approach – it’s local, community-based, and inclusive, with far-reaching ambition to ‘restore nature at scale’. That’s why we have chosen the Trust as our Charity of Choice.

Five Reasons to Support the Challenge
- Derbyshire Wildlife Trust aims to rewild 100,000 acres of land and water by 2030, creating more space for wildlife to thrive.
- The Trust is working to bring back lost species – supporting the reintroduction of species such as pine marten, black grouse, and white stork, helping to restore healthier, more resilient ecosystems.
- The team supports 250 communities to lead nature recovery projects in their own neighbourhoods, helping people connect with and care for the natural world around them.
- It is actively tackling the climate and biodiversity crises – through habitat restoration, rewilding, and nature-based solutions, the Trust is helping create a more resilient future for both people and wildlife.
- Derbyshire Wildlife Trust is creating a future where people and wildlife thrive together – every donation supports a long-term vision for a greener, healthier and more nature-rich Derbyshire.
