Corporate Walks Frequently Asked Questions

Where do your Corporate Walks take place?

Most of our Corporate Guided Walks take place in the stunning scenery of the Peak District National Park.  The Park is the most accessible upland area of the UK, within easy reach of London, the Midlands and North.

We may guide in other areas, subject to our availability.

Please do contact us on info@peakwalking.com if you have a query.

What types of Corporate Walks do you offer?

Here are some short descriptions of our Peak District Corporate Walks, with links to find out more:

Corporate Challenge or Charity Challenge Walks:  Our Corporate Challenge or Charity Challenge Walks are perfect for teams who want to stretch themselves in the hills, perhaps raising money for charity.

Team and Wellbeing Corporate Walks:  Our Peak District team and wellbeing walks are tailored for groups who simply want time out together. Outdoor walking in stunning landscapes promotes great conversations, creates headspace and supports team bonding.

Retreat and Holiday Company Corporate Walks:  With experience in bespoke tour operations, activity training and corporate communications, we support holiday and retreat companies wishing to deliver a tailored customer experience in the countryside or hills.

Special Interest Corporate Walks:  Our Special Interest walks are tailored and bespoke to the specific needs of your group.  It may be a walk on accessible paths, a walk with journalists seeking a photo or filming location for an interview, or a group where we need to consider specific cultural wishes.

Do you offer walks for singles, couples groups and families?

Yes we do.  You can visit our main website to find out more:  www.peakwalking.com >

Here’s our main website FAQs >.

How easy or difficult are your walks?

We have walks for new and experienced hill walkers and can offer accessible walks too. On every booking page the walk’s difficulty is graded.

Find out how are walks are graded here: Walk Difficulty >

Please do contact us on info@peakwalking.com if you have a query.

Can you advise us on the right Corporate Walk for our team?

Absolutely, this is a key part of the planning your walk.  It’s really important that we work with you to plan a walk that ensures everyone enjoys their day safely.

Please do contact us on info@peakwalking.com if you have a query.

Do you lead wild swimming activities on your walks?

No we don’t do this as we are not covered by our insurance to lead this activity.  Anyone who does swim, does so entirely at their own risk.

If you would like information about wild swimming, The National Open Water Coaching Association (NOWCA) promotes safe and accessible open-water swimming.  Visit NOWCA >

What's the maximum number you take?

Our usual maximum is 35 people.  We do this to avoid too much erosion on the paths and hills where we walk at any one time (see our Sustainability Work >) .  We also focus on bespoke walks where we can ensure everyone has the support they need.

However, do still get in touch if you have a larger group – we may be able to help by splitting groups or by working with partner organisations.

Please do contact us on info@peakwalking.com if you have a query.

Can you help us present the walk plan to our team?

Of course, we can put your walk plan onto a presentation (e.g. PowerPoint) for you to share and discuss with your colleagues, or hold a Zoom/Teams Meeting with you to discuss the plan.  It helps us all to do this so that everyone’s wishes and expectations are clearly understood before the day.

Please do contact us on info@peakwalking.com if you have a query.

What’s included when I book a Corporate Walk?

Please visit our ‘What’s Included’ >  page.

Please do contact us on info@peakwalking.com if you have a query.

Can you help us plan our accommodation, travel and logistics?

Yes.  Whilst you will need to book your own transport and accommodation we will help you as much as we can, advising you on location, potential accommodation and hospitality options, transport logistics, parking and timings.

In the Peak District we can also plan walks from Railway Stations,  or walks between Railway Stations.

Please do contact us on info@peakwalking.com if you have a query.

How do you manage different experience levels on your Corporate Walks?

We generally work on a low ratio of 1:8 participants per guide – this always works better in ensuring we can support all members of the party.  With larger groups and more guides there is more flexibility for participants to go at their own pace.  We can also plan walks with outer loops and inner loops – this enables everyone to start together, whilst allowing those who want a shorter day to peel off onto a shorter route as the day progresses.

Please do contact us on info@peakwalking.com if you have a query.

Are you inclusive in your approach?

It really matters to us that we welcome everyone to join us and enjoy the hills where we operate, particularly participants from under-represented communities.  We are committed to the protection of all people under the nine characteristics of the Equality Act (2010).  Specifically with respect to:

  1. Age
  2. Disability
  3. Gender reassignment
  4. Marriage and civil partnership
  5. Pregnancy and maternity
  6. Race
  7. Religion or belief
  8. Sex
  9. Sexual orientation

We are able to provide private guided walks to meet individual requirements for people with physical and sensory access needs. We can, for example, offer guided ‘walks’ along well made and level tracks suitable for wheelchair users, or to meet other specific needs. We are happy to discuss individual requirements and suggest suitable guided walks.

Due to the nature of outdoor terrain, environment and weather, if there are circumstances where we would not be able to accommodate someone’s wishes, purely  on the grounds of their health and their safety, we would be open, honest and support them in trying to find a solutions, or an alternative activity with ourselves, or another provider.

We are committed to continuous learning and always welcome feedback on measures we can take to ensure that we are inclusive.  Please contact us on info@peakwalking.com if you have any comments or suggestions.

We’re fundraising, can you help us spread the message?

There is no upper age limit as long as you are well or fit enough to join one of our guided walks or accessible walks.

People under 18 are welcome provided they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children under the age of 13 are welcome subject to prior agreement.

Can I bring my dog on a Corporate Walk?

We may accept dogs on our Corporate Walks where the group agrees to this collectively, and the owner agrees to take full responsibility for their pet, working within the conditions and requirements set down by the guide before the walk commences. Please do contact us if you have a query.

Your Responsibilities:  Where dogs are allowed on walks, owners must take full responsibility for their pet, working within the conditions and requirements set down by the guide before the walk commences.   This includes:

  • Ensuring your dog is well-behaved and fully under your control at all times.
  • Ensuring your dog is on a lead (we are walking in areas with protected wildlife and livestock). We also cannot wait if your dog runs off.
  • You are responsible for clearing up dog waste on paths or pavements.
  • You are confident that your dog is properly equipped (water, treats, coat etc) for the walk and weather, and is able to manage the distance terrain and ascents/descents on the walk you have chosen.

Assistance Dogs:  We are keen to be accessible and inclusive, so if you have a trained assistance dog, please contact us to see how we can best accommodate you and your dog’s needs and wishes on any of our walks.

What do we need to bring on a Corporate Walk?

Please visit our ‘What to Bring’ > page.

We will also supply walk information and a kit list for you to share with all participants, before the walk.

Please do contact us on info@peakwalking.com if you have a query.

Do we need to complete a health declaration before the Corporate Walk?

Yes, we will need each participant to complete a confidential health declaration and provide an emergency contact number before the walk. We will supply a link to an online health declaration form which can be sent to participants to complete and submit.  If there are any health issues which concern us we’ll be in touch with the individual concerned before the walk.

Do you have Risk Assessments?

Yes, we have Risk Assessments which will be completed and shared with you in advance of your Corporate Walk.

What do you do in bad weather?

We walk in all weathers unless the walk leader considers it is unsafe to do so. We reserve the right to change the itinerary or walking routes for safety reasons in poor weather and no refunds will be made if you decide not to walk due to weather conditions.

In the unlikely event we cancel your walk due to extreme weather conditions you will be offered either a full refund of monies paid, or transfer to another walk of the same or higher value. We will not be liable for any additional costs or expenses incurred.

Do you donate to charity?

Yes. We support charities through sponsorship or donations.  Our charities usual focus on supporting:

What do you do to preserve the environments where you work?

We make an annual donation to the  Moors for the Future Partnership >,  a charity which preserves the Peak District paths and uplands, the primary location where we walk.

We care deeply about the beautiful, natural environments across all the environments we are fortunate enough to share with you. It is vital they remain thriving, sustainable communities with a strong local economy.

In 2023 we were awarded the Peak District Environmental Quality Mark (PDEQM), for our work protecting the local and global environment, supporting the local economy, and investing in people and communities across the Peak District National Park.
